About The Band

Blending symphonic metal, death metal, and doom metal alongside a rich emotional tapestry of confessional songwriting, keyboardist and vocalist Chase Baldwin and bassist Benjamin Jacobs founded The Lucidia Project in 2022. Subtleties of post-rock and post-punk weave their way through the band’s orchestral oeuvre to give the band a sound that is both atmospheric and honed in. In 2022, they released their self-titled demo, with songs “In the Fray” and the first version of “Lights Out” garnering positive radio airplay. The band then released their debut EP Requiem in 2023.

In 2023, the band also brought guitarist Daniel Williams into the fold. After Dan joined the band, they recorded and released “Soul Killer” in late 2024, a standalone single which marked a significant maturation in the production and direction of the band. Guitarist Garrett Carroll joined the band in January of 2025.

From late 2024 to early 2025, the band wrote and recorded songs for a six song EP entitled The Twilight Affliction, releasing independently on June 30th. The EP takes the confessionalist lyrics, the vast array of artistic influences from Tori Amos to Katatonia and Nightwish, and presents listeners with a sonic identity that is both intimate and momentous.

After writing and recording The Twilight Affliction, The Lucidia Project brought on Aaron Bedford as their drummer in 2025 in anticipation of forthcoming live performances.
